Red One’s much awaited trailer has finally been released, giving us our first glimpse at the Christmas action film starring Chris Evans and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Seven Bucks, Red One is anticipated to be the ideal Christmas present for viewers when it opens in theatres later this year. In the highly anticipated film Red One, actor Dakota Johnson will play Callum Drift, the Commander of the E.L.F., while Chris Evans, a Marvel superhero, will play Jack O’Malley, an ordinary man who is drawn into the fight to save Christmas. Johnson has been promoting Red One for a while now. The Hollywood icon has drawn comparisons between the film and popular action films like Jumanji, Hobbs and Shaw, Miracle on 34th Street, and Harry Potter. Johnson captions a series of photos of himself striking various iconic action hero poses, saying, “An absolutely wild past month of shooting our new Christmas franchise known as RED ONE.” “Our film is a large, exciting, action-packed, and novel retelling of Christmas folklore. Let that sink in. Imagine JUMANJI meets MIRACLE ON 34TH ST meets HOBBS & SHAW. Add a hint of Harry Potter and my all-time favourite Christmas film, ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE. Red One is the latest in a line of Amazon MGM films that includes the highly regarded Air and the contentious thriller Saltburn, both of which had a theatrical premiere before being made available for streaming on Prime Video. The film is expected to be well-liked by viewers when it enters theatres just in time for Christmas 2024. The studio is undoubtedly trying to capitalise on the holiday action fun of Red One as well as the box office attraction of The Rock.
