The house is located on 5 acres, bordering the massive White River National Forest. The house is just minutes from everything Colorado has to offer, including fly-fishing and skiing, white water river rafting, hiking and 4-wheeling, horseback riding and craft beer drinking in Leadville. It’s a short drive from Vail, Buenavista, Copper Mountain and Breckenridge. The house is timber-built with large wood beams throughout. It is well-insulated and has many windows. The house is off-grid, but it has WIFI, all appliances, except for a microwave, as well as solar power with a backup propane engine. Air conditioning is not required in the house as you won’t use it. The house has radiant floor heating and a wood-burning fire place for heating. The whole house is accessible to guests, except for the garage. This area is not suitable for cell service. If you set your phone to WIFI calling, the house will have a landline.

It is in a small mountain neighbourhood with a well maintained dirt road connecting it with Highway 24. It is only 12 miles north of Leadville, and 25 miles south from Vail. It is advisable to own a car. You will need an all-wheel drive or 4WD in winter because snow is common at 10,000 feet elevation. In winter, the snowplows clear driveways and roads. From the property, you can access hiking and biking trails. These are just some of the activities you can do while on vacation.
Continental Divide Trail. The Continental Divide Trail/Colorado Trail runs a few hundred meters from the house. It connects to it via the Fiddler Trail, which is a trail that runs from the property.
Ski Cooper. Ski Cooper is just 3 miles from your house. Cooper is Colorado’s definition of authentic skiing. They have the best snow surface in Colorado. There are terrain options for all abilities, including learning and beginner terrain, epic powder, glades, bumps, and everything in between.
Buena Vista. This is a small town with a Main Street that has tons of shops and restaurants. It is a great place to go whitewater rafting or mountain biking. You should also walk to the main area to the south.
